To and from Abu Dhabi City
Opting for the air-conditioned bus service to commute between the airport and Abu Dhabi city offers a blend of economy and comfort.
The designated bus stops are situated at the lower curbside outside Terminals 1 and 3, outside Terminal 2, at the Cargo Building, and the Police Complex. Look for the blue and white signs indicating the bus stops.
Route Information
The bus operates from all three terminals and makes stops at every legal bus stop en route to the city. The route includes a stop at the Bus Stand at Muroor and Street 11 and concludes at the Old Fish Market on Al Nasr Street (near NYU Abu Dhabi).

Timings: Buses are available every 40 minutes, operating 24/7. Cost: The one-way fare is set at AED 4. Transfer Time: The estimated travel time to the city is around 45 minutes, subject to traffic conditions.

Arriving at Terminals 1 or 3

- Every 1 km up to 50 km (6am-10pm) – AED 1.6
- Every 1 km up to 50 kms (10pm – 6am) – AED 1.69

- Every 1 minute of waiting time (first 5 minutes free) – 50 fils
Holders of a discount card from the UAE Ministry of Social Affairs are eligible for a fare reduction of 25% to 50%.
Etihad Chauffeur and Coach Services
Etihad Airways extends chauffeur and coach services to guests in all cabins, ensuring a seamless journey.
Chauffeur Service
Guests travelling in First or Business Class with Etihad Airways can avail the complimentary Etihad Chauffeur service for transfers during departure and arrival anywhere in the UAE. This service can be booked online up to 24 hours before the flight. For bookings, alterations, and cancellations, guests can visit the Etihad Airways website, contact Etihad Airways’ Global Contact Centres and local offices, or reach out to their local travel agent.
For international transfers, Etihad Airways collaborates with SIXT, offering a global paid airport transfer service to guests across all cabins, including economy. This service caters to both family and business travellers. More information and booking options are available on the SIXT website.
Please note:
- Complimentary chauffeur services continue for guests travelling in The Residence to all A380 destinations.
- Transfers between airport terminals are not available.
Coach Service
Economy Class guests have the option to use free Etihad coach services to Dubai and Al Ain when flying in and out of Abu Dhabi International Airport. This complimentary service is available for reservation online up to 24 hours before the flight for Etihad Airways flight bookings.
To reserve a seat on the coach, guests can visit the Etihad Airways website and provide their booking reference and last name. For bookings, changes, and cancellations, contact options include Etihad Airways’ Global Contact Centres, local offices, or local travel agents.
The coaches can be located at the lower level of the arrivals hall, with clear signage directing guests from customs.
